Buddy and Bear

With our award-winning kid’s brand Buddy and Bear, we wanted to take a new approach to kid’s design.

At the time, there was a huge gap in the market for gender-neutral nursery pieces that appealed to both adults and little ones alike – so we took it upon ourselves to build a bold and playful baby and toddler brand that soon became recognised worldwide.

Less is more
At a time when the baby and toddler market was saturated with licensed characters and twee cliches, Buddy and Bear set out to change things. As parents ourselves, we knew how overwhelming the bright plastic and noisy buttons that come with a small child can be. Very carefully, we stripped things right back to create logo and identity that’s a magical combination of calm minimalism and cheeky charm.

From the e-commerce website to product packaging and marketing, the brand has a distinctive personality. The paired back typography and use of white space allows for lots of humour to come through with playful photography, art direction and clever copywriting.

Buddy and Bear has won multiple awards and was stocked by over 150 outlets worldwide, including Oliver Bonas and Liberty of London.
